Arthur has thought of the new world as another chance to start anew, as he didn't want to be faced with the problems of the past again. Another reason is so that he can finally have his revenge. He's also left lots of regrets in the old world that he doesn't want to be reminded of.

Personality: Arthur is quite a sharp-tongued, sarcastic, cynical and short-tempered gentleman. He can drift off in thought sometimes and occasionally goes into a state where he is deluding about seeing and talking to small magical creatures. He's unable to convey his emotions properly and claims to be good at cooking, even though this statement is entirely false.
History: Having unknown parents and been found as an orphan, Francis Bonnefoy did take care of Arthur for a year or so before being adopted into another family. As time passes by, he grew up to become a white-hat criminal, scamming and black-mailing to get what he wants to get his hand on. Eventually, he was deceived by another nobleman that framed Francis for stealing one of Arthur's first and most precious possessions. However, unknowingly, for the sake of protecting Francis, Francis' girlfriend was to be burnt alive in public tied to a tall pillar as she was accused of witchery and claimed that she stole it instead. Arthur actually didn't want that event to occur, as he somewhat liked her. Therefore, he was unwillingly responsible for Francis' girlfriend's death. She had requested to be executed when Francis was out of town and she didn't want him to know about it. So Arthur fulfilled her last wish and kept this news away from Francis. However, even now, due to misunderstanding and all the events that have happened, the two hate each other to the point where they want to claw each other's throats out every time they meet.
Brief Summery of their old world: Having Earth-like heritages, traditions and countries to live in, it's somewhat similar to the 17th century Earth only with a lot less pollution and the fact that there are some forbidden dark magic never to be used. Magic can be used and is a unexplained and under-researched source of energy that they use.

The monochromatic sky softly wept as the pattering sounds of the rain rhythmically echoed through the Briton's heavily ornamented and somewhat Baroque-styled cottage. England glanced at the glass panel as a sleep-deprived, battered fallen empire stared back. The night seemed to always drag on forever as the denied feeling of loneliness, betrayal and even regret from the past slowly crept through the darkest corners of his mind. The Englishman had already been used to the stinging smell of blood... But now, he became used to the bitter taste of tears.
The memories danced about in Arthur's solemn eyes as he remembered them like everything had only just occurred the day before. Out of frustration, he flung the empty wineglass at his reflection and started to mutter curses under his breath. Seated at his writing desk, drops of tears began to stain the draft copy of an unfinished novel.
